Got a little bored on my day off, so I decided to do a little designing. This one's called 'Magic Mountain'

I WAS BORED...

 

Some logos I designed in one of my classes a few weeks back.  The second logo was inspired (stolen lol) by the image created by Teenage Jesus.

FIX UP, LOOK SHARP.

Being an extreme lover of all things minimalist, here's a few inspirational images that I've found all over the internet and have been posted on my tumblr... I've been really into watching a show on Lifestyle called Grand Designs and incredibly inspired by all the 'box like' minimalist houses, so there is a few images of architecture and interior design that I've found also.

Also I've been following a European electro blog for sometime now called Fix Up, and I'm really enjoying the website layout and title font. If anyone knows what the font is - please let me know!

LOLA DUPRE

Recently I stumbled across a similar online magazine to mine (PITCH) called The Work Magazine, which included a brilliant artist and collage-er Lola Dupre. The Scottish artist takes full images and cuts them with her own hands. This work is truly inspiring and absolutely breathtaking. Also the use of appropriation is something I really admire in design, so here are some images!

IT'S BEEN A WHILE...

I've been learning about vector images!

Yes it's been a while since I've been on blogger, I have shamefully been using tumblr as my major blog however it's been more of an inspirational feed rather than any sort of intellectually formed sentences! Anyway, basically I'm just going to update on recent events. I've decided I need to document all of my design inspiration, so I figured this would be a great place to do it! I'm also in a new semester of uni, and unfortunately I have no motivation whatsoever apart from 2 subjects which I'm loving and the one I'm majorly interested in is Visual Communication. We've been assigned to design a device and create all the layouts of the packaging, media and advertisements which is EVER SO FUN! Haha, but seriously I love making logos. There's a few I've just quickly designed.

Another thing with doing this subject is that I am really into colours so a lot of my colour schemes draw from fashion photography I've seen lately. Here's some of my most influential photographs I've seen lately.

I've also been cutting out heaps of editorials from magazines which is really helpful, as well as looking for different layouts and such.

Came across this very intriguing trailer for an Australian movie, Sleeping beauty + apparently it got into Cannes film festival. So incredibly exciting to see how well Australian films are doing nowadays!

It's been so long since I've posted! New layout, theme & everythingggg 

So I've been doing a huge amount of things lately, amongst studying I've applied for a number of graphic design jobs and YES I know I'm not very experienced but hey I thought I would give it a go. I've actually been talking to the guy who runs Mirror Mirror Agencies about doing some designing for their anniversary show - how exciting! 

I've also been getting together a few freelance jobs here and there. I'm going through initial designs with one of my good friends who is starting up a blog. Another one of my friend's sister's boyfriend's band (aha) is in need of some posters for their next gig, so hopefully I'll be able to gain a little more experience through that too :) 

I've been really getting into fashion of late so keep an eye out for PITCH which should be ready to read in a couple of months!

Feeling a bit catty?

This drawing took so long! I've just been getting into the whole digital drawing on my tablet however I'm finding it a little difficult compared to drawing on paper. So I first of all drew the image the usual way I do on paper with pen and a pencil then transferred it on the computer to edit. I think it turned out quite lovely, just too a little longer than expected!  

Not sure what I was thinking when I drew this and tbh I don't think I ever really think about my drawings on a deeper level. I'm sure do some more non-sensical drawings very soon :)

P.S. obviously I ADORE cats.
